Passed on to the Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Sport and Youth. The document has been discussed at its 10th meeting of 7 February 2013.

And at it's 51st meeting of 15 February 2013 the Committee on EU Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the following Position:

The Republic of Slovenia supports the Proposal for a Directive on improving the gender balance among non-executive directors listed on stock exchanges and related measures.

In negotiations Slovenia will particularly emphasize the importance of the provision determining sanctions and welcome the fact that the proposer will enable each Member State to lay down rules on sanctions.

Furthermore, Slovenia will advocate the position that it is important to set a sufficient time limit from the date of entry into force of the directive to the date set up to achieve the objective.
