Information on parliamentary scrutiny

On 17 April 2012, the Bureau of the Joint Committee for EU Affairs decided to appoint a rapporteur to examine the compliance of the initiative with the principle of subsidiarity.

On 8 May 2012, the report presented by the rapporteur was rejected by the Joint Committee and a new rapporteur was appointed to examine the compliance of the iniciative with the principle of subsidiarity.

21/05/2012 | Report 6/2012 of 21/05/2012 on COM (2012) 130 final

On 21 May 2012, the Joint Committee for EU Affairs adopted a Resolution regarding the compliance of the initiative with the principle of subsidiarity.

The Resolution states that the proposal is in accordance with the principle of subsidiarity.

On 6 June 2012, the EC notify the proposal's revision because of the reception of 12 reasoned opinion issued by National Parliaments (art 7.2 Protocol n 2).

On 12 September 2012, the EC notify its decision to withdraw the Proposal.
