This proposal was considered by the Sub-Committee on European Scrutiny at its meeting of 19/07/2006 (item 1.15).

It was agreed that this very significant proposal be referred for further scrutiny by the Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women’s Rights. It was also agreed  that the proposal be forwarded for information to the Committee on Enterprise and Small Business and the Committee on European Affairs

An exercise to establish the current position in relation to outstanding EU proposals referred to sectoral committees by the Sub-Committee on European Scrutiny in the 29^th Dáil was undertaken by the Joint Committee on European Scrutiny in March 2009.
